Default Outlook 2010 All messages sent to outbox and stay there! Very frustrating!!

I've been wrestling with this situation for several days. I have an Att "sbcglobal.net" primary e-mail with several subaccounts. Have used ATT server recommendations "inbound.att.net 995 SSL" & "outbound.att.net 465 SSL" which test complete for inbound server and sent.I can also use "pop.att.yahoo.com & smtp.att.yahoo.com" which also work. All messages I compose and send show in the sent folder but remain in the outbox folder and are never received by the addresses I have sent to? i have tried many different things (repair, new profile, rules, safe mode, disabling my Vipre intenet security program, etc., none of which have been successful. I am reaching the conclusion that the error is in the Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 & its Outlook program itself. My previous experience with Outlook 2003 was very good and i liked it very much with all its features. However, the design of Outlook 2010 seems not to be for a simple home user. Rather, it appears to be for large organizatiions with many users working with complex features.
I think that much like many of my associates I will have to consider changing to gmail unless someone can help me out of my current dilemma.
From the Internet postings this problem appears to be inherent to the Outlook program with no apparent fix?

It is certainly not an unknown problem, but it should not be insurmountable. The following macro added to a ribbon button can be used to force the messages in the Outbox to be sent:
Code:
Option Explicit
Sub SendAndReceiveAll()
Dim olNS As NameSpace
Dim olSyncs As SyncObjects
Dim olSync As SyncObject
Dim olItems As Items
Dim olItem As Object
Dim i As Long

    Set olNS = Application.GetNamespace("MAPI")
    Set olSyncs = olNS.SyncObjects
    Set olItems = olNS.GetDefaultFolder(4).Items
    For i = olItems.Count To 1 Step -1
        Set olItem = olItems(i)
        olItem.sEnd
        DoEvents
    Next i
    For i = 1 To olSyncs.Count
        Set olSync = olSyncs.Item(i)
        olSync.Start
        DoEvents
    Next
CleanUp:
    Set olItems = Nothing
    Set olItem = Nothing
    Set olNS = Nothing
    Set olSyncs = Nothing
    Set olSync = Nothing
lbl_Exit:
    Exit Sub
End Sub

Thank you gmayor for your detailed reply. Unfortunately, I have a very limited knowledge of programing and writing actual programing statements to create Macros. I greatly admire your experience and knowledge. Thanks again for your time and offer of a solution.

You don't need any knowledge of programming. I have provided that for you. You need only to copy and paste. The general principles are covered at http://www.gmayor.com/installing_macro.htm and while the illustrations are from Word, the VBA editor is the same for all Office products.

Outlook does not however have a macro recorder, so you would have to open the VBA editor (ALT+F11), add a module from the Insert Menu and paste the code into it.

With Outlook you may need to sign the VBA project, but we will cross that bridge if it becomes a necessity.
