Default commenting in Outlook 2013

In previous versions of Outlook I was able to reply to emails and make comments in the original email and it would show up in a different color and have my initials. I see that 2013 doesn't support Word as a choice for editor anymore - BTW, this really is a horrible decision. Does this have anything to do with the loss of this function, or is it hidden someplace else in 2013.

The last version of Outlook to use Word as editor was 2003. More recent versions use a Word-like editor with a command set appropriate to e-mail functionality.
