Default Outlook 2007: Deleted files are disappearing

I am using Outlook 2007 and Windows 7.



When I delete an e-mail it just disappears instead of showing up in the deleted files folder (personal folder) and/or IMAP). I have checked for these files in my IMAP deleted files, IMAP trash and personal deleted files.

Can anyone tell me where these files have gone? Could it be something in my settings?
