Outlook 2013 not syncing to imap
Hi - long time reader, but first time post.
I have a laptop running outlook 2013. It is using a imap email account, so should sync all folders and sub folders to the mail server. Logging into webmail for the above email account I notice that in some (not all) subfolders, only some emails have sync'd to the email server (yet they show in outlook). The emails are synced up to end of 2014, but nothing for 2015 and beyond. The inbox is syncing fine and other subfolders are fine. If anyone could help, it would stop me head butting the wall! Thank you |

Hi snips,
Are you 100% sure you're using an IMAP account? There HAS to be a copy on the server for you to receive your mail, and to delete it from the server you would have to delete it from within Outlook. Do you have this account set up across multiple devices? |

Thanks for the reply HighFlyTechGuy
Yes it's 100% IMAP. It is accessed from multiple devices, so I am thinking the move to folder within outlook did not sync correctly and may still be in the server inbox somewhere (I can't check right now as I am out of the office) Strange one |

Snips,
To confirm, you are finding emails in Outlook which you are NOT finding by accessing your webmail? This is highly unlikely and I would recommend checking all folders or performing a search without OWA in order to locate the missing emails. Do you have any client-side only rules, set up in Outlook? I suspect something like that is the cause, rather than any syncing issues. |

Thanks for all your help. The 'missing' emails were in fact still in the inbox (in webmail) still, so guessing the move didn't quite go to plan from outlook. Thank you for helping!

Snips,
I'm glad your issue is now resolved. Out of interest, were these missing emails subject to a rule within Outlook which moved them from the inbox to another sub-folder? Or were you moving emails manually in Outlook then the changes were not syncing to the server? If you're happy with the situation then no need to answer my questions, I'm just curious. |
