Default Another program is using Outlook......

I recently installed Office 2013. Outlook automatically starts and in the system tray I see an Outlook icon with a red gear. I hover over the icon and I see the following message:

"Another program is using Outlook. To disconnect programs and exit Outlook, click the Outlook icon and click Exit Now."

I have absolutely no idea what might be accessing Outlook. I did a little research prior to posting this and some people indicate that it might be Onedrive, or something syncing Outlook.

Any suggestions on what to look for, and how to stop this?

Thank you.

Daryl

Hi Rosede

A number of applications will give information to Outlook via DCOM. Try killing some processes one by one and see if the icon goes away. Possibilities include Skype, Webex and similar messaging utilities.
