Although the answer (of course you've got to open a program for it to run!) sounds obvious, I know that certain 3rd party applications use date from OL after I've closed OL.
My suspicion is that OL is not indexing when closed. So before I get involved figuring out how to tell my backup software to open OL on my wife's computer after copying my pst to her machine at night, I wanted to: a) be certain that OL is not background indexing while closed, and b) check to see if there isn't a setting that I missed that would force OL to index while closed.
