Syncing Outlook 2013 with Outlook.com

Hello forum people My friends call me Pete. This is my first post so forgive me if I mess up. My first question is about syncing Outlook 2013 with Outlook.com and how it works or how it's suppose too? I am under the assumption that when it's setup correctly if you make an entry in Outlook 2013 calendar, contacts, or tasks it's supposed to automatically appear in Outlook.com. Is that correct? I have, Outlook 2013, setup as my primary/default email in imap/smtp and Outlook.com as a Exchange ActiveSync account. But when I make an entry in Outlook 2013 I don't see it in Outlook.com. What am I doing wrong? Can someone help please?
