Create a desktop shortcut pointing to Outlook with a switch to open the calendar e.g. for Outlook 2010
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\OUTLOOK.EXE" /select outlook:calendar The path will be depend on Outlook version and operating system.

The calendar should open to the last used view.

For me it doesnt, it opens to the image in the top of my post (outlook open.jpg) and I want it to open like the second image in my post (outlookwant.jpg). That is the reason for my post. I am wondering if there is some setting I am missing

I may have just figured it out. View->Current View->Day/Week/Month had to be checked. In mine it was Appointments that was checked. Now that I changed it it is working as expected. Thanks for your help
