Default Repeated password prompt despite turning off send and recieve

I have four email accounts. One of which works, the other three I have no use for and only want to retain them to keep the emails (I cannot move them to the new account as there are many hundreds of them).

I have therefore disabled send and receive on those three accounts. However I receive persistent requests to login to the server for one of the accounts (close the prompt and seconds later it reappears) and occasional prompts for one another account.

The prompt is so persistent it is nigh on impossible to use the computer. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I might be able to fix this? I would be hugely appreciative for any help.

Thank You
