I'm using MS Outlook 2010 32-bit on Windows 7 64-bit. I tried to create a bunch of email templates for use by our company but something seems to keep going wrong with the process. Here is what I am doing to create the templates:
- From Outlook, I open a new message window. - I copy and paste the body text of the message from a Word document that already contains all the necessary text. - I go to File -> Save As -> Outlook Template and save the file in a folder on our network drive. - I then use the same message window to create the next template (copying and pasting the text of the next template, and doing Save As again, saving to the same location with a different filename). - Once I have created all of the templates, I create a new folder in the relevant mailbox on outlook and drag all the templates into that folder. I can then double-click on any of those templates to open it as a message window in Outlook. The weird thing that is happening is that after creating them all, I go back and re-open them and find that many of them have saved each with a different filename (which is correct), but still with the same body text from one of the previous templates I had created. At first, I thought it was because I had just forgotten to update the text before saving it or something, but it has happened far too often for that to realistically be the case. What is causing this to happen? |
