Corrupted attached files in Outlook - Apple .me account
I am running Outlook 2013 and Windows 8.1, on a recent Dell PC.
Last week, most Outlook attachments started to arrive corrupted. This includes PDFs, PPTXs, JPEGs; for example, with a PDF I get the message: 'Adobe Reader cannot open XXX because it is not a supported file type or the file is damaged...' I took the computer to my local dealer and they found the same problem when my PC was connected to their network/ISP. They troubleshooted Outlook but found no problems. They set up my Outlook account on their own PC and still got the problem, and they are suggesting the fault lies with Apple's .me system working with Outlook. I can receive files OK on my iPad.. Has anyone seen or heard of a similar problem? Thanks |

Outlook 2013 attachments corrupted using .me email address
Have the same problem using Windows 7 and Outlook 2013. Very small files can be opened but anything over about 100k in size will be corrupted. Can open files in browser and on ipad and on iphone but not on Dell PC or Samsung S4 phone. Seems to be attachments coming in via an icloud email address are corrupted.

Same, about 2 weeks ago.... I've tried apple support and Microsoft support. Very nice, but no help. I think it's more a problem with icloud because the attachments are corrupted when viewed in Dell Laptop or Samsung phone, so don't think it's an Outlook problem. Changing Trust Centre settings doesn't help. I've reinstalled latest icloud control panel but no use.

I've also used all the repair functions in Office 365 and reinstalled Outlook and even created a new user profile on the laptop in case my user settings were corrupted. All no help.

I have also posted on the Apple Support Communities forum and I have received two replies from people with the same problem. This lends further support to the fact that the fault lies with Apple's .me accounts.
I have tried contacting Apple but it's just impossible! |

glannvmit, we have solved the problem by setting up Outlook using my .icloud address. This automatically receives .me emails and their attachments are not corrupted.

Hello,
I had to create an account just to say that we are experiencing problems with attachments also. Mac OS X 10.9 or 10.10, tried Outlook 2011 and Outlook for Mac (new O365 version release 3 weeks ago). Problem is that the attachments are working fine when logged in to iCloud or when using Mac Mail. I will try the .icloud.com solution and refer back. Spent countless hours with Microsoft technical support but no luck in resolving this issue as yet. :/ |

Change iCloud Settings in Outlook to solve the problem
I was on another forum and found this solution. It worked for several folks there and it worked for me. Set the incoming mail server on the icloud account to p03-imap.mail.me.com No idea why that works, but suddenly all my attachments are coming in fine.

Thanks, louelleng. I managed to solve the problem by changing my outlook account settings to .icloud, not .me.
Emails addressed to .me are automatically re-directed to .icloud and, for some odd reason, the attachments are fine. |
