Default Outlook Tasks 'current view'?

Office '07

I recently switched email servers from Gmail IMAP to Kerio (an Exchange equivalent).

It may just be coincidental but I've noticed 2 annoying Outlook behavior changes.

1. In Tasks, when I need to search on a word that I know is contained within the title of a task, I enter the word in the 'search all task items' box. Within the left panel, I always have Active tasks checked. When I hit the enter key and search starts and completes I'm frequently left with a blank results area. The reason becomes obvious, neither Active, Completed. or... tasks are checked but 'Outlook Data Files' is checked. Why on earth that's listed as a Task view I have no idea let alone how the Outlook search is deciding that's where it finally needs to look? Anyone have a suggestion how to fix my Task search?

2. When I click on Task Subject I get the message 'you cannot sort by this field'. Yet, I have always been able to sort this field. I'm wondering if this Outlook behavior change is somehow linked to the first and the server change?
