Hi,
Is it possible to set up an email account in Outlook 2010 that will not download mail, to be used only for sending? (This is because my mail to various accounts is all consolidated into one which is then downloaded to outlook - I don't want to download the individual accounts as well as this would duplicate the mail, but I want to be able to reply from the account the mail was originally sent to.) Thanks, Peter |

Hi,
AFAIK, this is not possible. However, you might want to investigate other alternatives if your goal is only to make sure that you always reply from the account the mail was sent to. For instance, you don't have to download to Outlook if you use IMAP, or you can use Exchange (Office 365 included). Finally, I believe Outlook 2010 will reply from the correct account. |

Hi,
and thanks for the reply. The issue is really about not downloading duplicates which, if the alternative is not possible, then I guess I can achieve with rules. As for outlook replying from the correct account, no way! It's well known that this is affected by various factors but the result is that outlook must be checked every time for the account from which it chooses to reply! |
