Default Outlook will not run without Direct Mail Manager open

Outlook 2000. Something happened in the past that now I have to open Direct Mail manager and choose my personal folder in Office before Outlook will run. It attempts to open but then shuts down. I then open Direct Mail Manger and it opens and runs perfectly.

I attempted to reload Office and run Outlook fix tool but the problem was not corrected.
Help

Bob

Outlook 2000, wow!

Have you tried creating a new profile (via Control Panel, Mail applet)?

Yeah, funny Mike, it's archaic just like me and I see XP will not be supported after April 4 by MS. Oh well, I just mostly surf and email a little anymore.

Have also lost some familiarization I had with things you suggested so I will ask do you mean a new account? I went to Control Panel/Mail and Add a new account is my only option other than changing the existing one?

I just find it strange that Outlook Express opens and runs but Outlook does not unless I open Direct Mail Manager and it asks "Where is your address list" and I select Outlook/Personal Folders.

Thanks for you help!

Bob
