undisclosed-recipients
I am constantly receiving email in my Outlook 2007 with undisclosed-recipients in the TO: field. Obviously it is spam and it goes right into my junk email folder as such. The return addresses are usualy "noreply- ....... etc". Is there a way to block this useless email from even getting to me? Can I set up a rule so as not to accept any email not directed to my specific email address? Thanks.

Hi iflog ,
To solve your issue of filtering undisclosed recipients just follow these steps:

Thanks Dexter. I figured out how to make a rule and get the messages that come to me marked undisclosed-recipient deleted with a couple clicks. I would actually like them to be deleted before they get to me but..........I'll work on that. Now I have to figure out how to do that with messages I am receiving with nothing in the "to" column. How do I get email without my address being listed on it?

Hi iflog
The rule you created works when the mail is received and then the filter rules are activated it is not possible to delete directly from server as you want them to get deleted before reaching you and in my knowledge you cannot remove your name from someone's mailing list .You can just filter the messages . Is there any sort of auto reply to a message. For instance if I put you on a list of people I do not want to receive email from, can Outlook automatically reply and delete the message without me even viewing it? If not I think I have a new job working at Microsoft as a coder.

Hi I flog
Well in MS Outlook you can make a rule to reply back specific message to address but however you cannot ask Outlook to auto delete those message although it is possible using macro feature where you need to provide coding and program Outlook in such a way that it replies the spammers and deletes the mail as well. However temporarily I am providing you a solution to make a rule for auto reply to the undisclosed addresses .First, you need to create a message template or the message which you want the receiver to be addressed with.
Now the next step is to create a rule. Which I showed you earlier you just need to follow these changes :
If you get confused or face any other difficulty revert back Thanks ~Dex |

I did that with a template message " You have been permanently blocked from this e-mail address. Any e-mail in the future will result in you receiving this message." Then I thought about it. I don't want the person that sent the spam to know that I received it. I would rather just block their email address so I never receive mail from them again.

Thanks for all the help. I took a mental health break for a while but now I'm back. I notice in the junk e-mail options there is a radio button or check box if you will, for permanently deleting suspected junk email instead of moving it to the junk e-mail folder. I fear that may catch something I may want to see so I haven't checked that box. What I would like to do is maybe create a rule that says "permanently delete email received from people on my blocked senders list". This way when I recieve e-mail from someone on the list, it would go right to the deleted items folder instead of to the junk e-mail folder where I have to delete it again. Any way of making that happen?
