Default When Outlook starts, a warning box "String was not recognized as a valide datetime"

Every time i start Outlook 2010, a warning box opens stating
"String was not recognized as a valid DateTime"

I have run Scanpst.exe and it said it was fixing some errors...but this message continues.

I guess the warning could be coming from any portion of Outlook but i sort of thought it was most likely from the Calendar.

I think it began shortly after i started gmail's calendar syncing with Outlook.

I tried to delete any new calendar events to no avail.

I have no idea as to how to find the offending item: i would be very happy to delete it. Nor do i have any idea as to how to "repair" the date/time entry...

Any help appreciated.

Windows 7 64 bit; Outlook 2010 --i don't see an About box for its version...

Thanks.
Terry

Hi,

Can you try starting Outlook with the "/safe" switch? If the problem goes away, then it is an add-in that is probably causing the problem.

I went ahead and disabled the sync function Add-on. The problem went away. I suspected that it was related to the google calendar sync.

My guess is that i entered a calendar event on google and it was mangled...and then when sync'ed to the Windows system it was not recognized. I will go to the web and see if i cannot delete any appointment for Jan and make this go away. It will be my goal to re-enable the sync later...its the only way that i know to sync my Android tablet calendar with the desktop. Unless someone out there knows of another way?

Thanks for telling me how to do the /safe mode start up. I was not familiar with that.

I re-enabled the Google sync and the error is back. I did delete a lot of appointments from the calendar from the Google side. BUT that id not fix it. the program for syncing is from UD Soft and is free...but i am having this problem.

Did some more browsing WE CAN CLOSE THIS THREAD. The developer is aware of it but unable to fix it. This is from a blog website:

I am sorry I did not get back to you any earlier. Unfortunately the programmer I hired to develop the program has stopped working for the project about a year ago and he is not providing us anymore support.

He had one suggestion that just deleted the log file....but that does not fix it. The problem is not in Outlook but in the sync program and multiple users have had it.

I need to look for different sync program.

Thanks to all who tried to help.
