Default Outlook doesn't shutdown gracefully

I have 2 PCs, a workstation and a laptop. Both were bought at the same time (6-7 years ago) and set up by the same tech support company with the same software (Win XP Pro, Office, and some applications). I have since upgraded to Office 2007. The laptop has many more applications installed.

They are connected to a P2P network by both cat5 cables and a wireless router.

When I reboot the workstation, I always get 2-3 messages from Windows saying that Outlook cannot be closed and offering me a chance to force a shutdown or cancel the reboot. This happens every time. It never happens on the laptop.

Both PCs have all of the Microsoft updates installed.

This started happening about a year ago or so. Otherwise, the PC seems to run OK.

Is there anything I can do about this?

I tried to capture a screen shot, but SnagIt wouldn't start up because the system was in shutdown mode. If you need more information, I can write it down post it.
