Default Very, very weird Inbox behavior

MS Office 2010

2 installations--home and office.

Same ISP and same email address.

Both installations are set to leave mail on the server for 10 days.

On September 20 and 21 home received 4 emails from Paypal. On Monday 23, my wife reported that the office did not receive the Paypal emails. Today, the 24, I visited her office and checked the Inbox, Junk and Deleted--no sign of the emails.

With Inbox highlighted, I commenced a search for Paypal. No instances were returned. However, Outlook displayed a link asking if I wanted to search all mail. Even though I had already initially searched all mail I of course said yes.

Outlook extended search returned the 4 Paypal emails along with a half dozen other emails. The resident folder was Inbox. I clicked on Inbox and the emails were (still) not there.

Okay, I'll bite...what is going on here?

Mark
