Default Outlook 2007 and Word Editing Smilies?

Hi

I just changed to Office 2007 with Outlook 2007 and I notice now that when I type a letter in Outlook 07 and add a "smiley" in the body of the letter that it does not automatically change the 2 keys strokes of the smiley to round circle smiley like this ...

it only always looks like >>>> : )

Is there some way that this can be reactivated or was this feature only in Office 03?

Thanks for any help!

BeerZ

Hi BeerZ

Check if you have ticked "replace text as you type"

path: tools/options/spelling tab -> click on Spelling and AutoCorrection -> auto correct options

You will see the "replace text as you type" selection as well as the exact combination of keystrokes that are replaced with one symbol.

Also do you type smile exactly as you wrote in your post? because you have space between : and )

Regards,
Wries

Yes I had to tick "replace as you type" and now my smilies look like round circle smilies again

Thanks a lot!

I went to mark the thread as "Solved' but in THREAD TOOLS when it drops down there are only 2 boxes and they are "email & printable version" but in the linked method of marking as solved there are more? So I was unable to mark as solved...

thanks again!
