Please help!!!!

I leave my Microsoft Email open all day long.... when a new message pops up, it notifies me in the lower right bottom of the screen with a "preview" of the text of the email. I got a notification when it popped up but when I maxed the screen and clicked on the message, it was blank.... Any suggestions on what will fix this so I can read the message? Thanks in advance!
