Hi guys,
I have a user with an XP 64bit machine that we have recently upgraded from Office 2003 to 2010 and everything runs fine except Outlook. When he trys to open outlook it appears to want to finish an install, then it prompts for a reboot. Once rebooted and you try to open it again it repeats the process like it's caught in a loop. The strange this is it opens fine in safe mode. We have tried the following: Repair Uninstall/Reinstall recreating Outlook profile recreating main profile disabling add ins lots of head scratching We know you have to fiddle about with the Office 2010 install for an XP 64 bit machine, but we have had no problems on any of the other xp64 bit machines. It almost seems like maybe something is possibly corrupting during the install which is maybe disabled during safe mode which might explain why that works. Any suggestions on a resolution would be great as Outlook seems to have been the biggest headache in our Office 2010 rollout at the moment. Thanks |

I'm running in to this same issue on an XP 32bit SP3 machine where we had uninstalled Office 2000 and installed 2010. Outlook acts like it is installing something then prompts to reboot every time Outlook is launched unless safe mode is used. No apprent plugins that are causing an issue. This is the second time I have reinstalled Office and have manually removed all folders related to Office before the reinstall.
