Here is the next thing that pops up after I reloaded windows 7
Every time I starts the Outlook I get the message that contains the following information. How can I stop it from coming up? If I say "yes" to the message the program will just go on. I have even followed the prompt after clicking the View Certificate..." button to install the certificate but it hasn't made any difference. "The server you are connected to is using a security certificate that cannot be verified. The target principal name is incorrect. Do you want to continue using this server?" I use my AOL email address. Never had a propblem before. You folks are tops! Thank you in advance. Thomas |

Hello Thomas,
It seems the address in the certificate does not match to the inbound and/or outbound addresses in your account settings. Re this problem you can check: http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/9989...-outlook-2007/ http://www.daniweb.com/hardware-and-...curity-warning The first thing i would suggest trying is the fix in the 2nd link. Check what are the in/out addresses: Quoted from the 2nd link: "If you have AOL and had outlook configure it for you then you probably have the same problem, just go to aol site and find the correct incoming and outgoing mail server and change the settings in outlook." here is the link how to access in/out settings: http://www.wiseinternet.com.au/suppo...-Settings.aspx Kind regards, Wries |

This did the trick. It seems that the incoming mail setting was like this; POP3 Incoming server: pop.aol.com Port: 995 and needed to be like this; POP3 Incoming server: pop.imap.com Port: 995 The differance being the imap part replaced the aol part to make it work. Beats me. It works now however. Thank you for the wonderful help. Thomas |
