![]() My wife and I both use Outlook 2010 for e-mail on a Dell Inspiron running Windows 7-64 bit. I am an Administrator and, supposedly, she is too although when I call up her start page there is no administrator tools tab to run. But more importantly, when she tries to run a hyperlink that she receives in an e-mail, this message comes up..."This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator." I have no problem running that same hyperlink when I access it through my Outlook account. Any help will be much appreciated. Scott. |

This error can occur if no program is properly set as the default for links. Sometimes it will happen after a browser such as Firefox or Chrome are installed. Check the Default Programs and try setting Internet Explorer as the default for all of its associated file types:
1. Open the Control Panel 2. Open Default Programs (you may have to click on the Programs group depending on your view settings). 3. Click "Set your default programs" 4. Click on Internet Explorer in the Programs list. 5. Click "Set this program as default" 6. Click OK Try your links in Outlook. If it works after this change, then you should be able to go back in and change the default to whichever browser you want. Hope this helps. -SW |

I am having the same problem. Hyperlinks give me this message, ..."This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator." I tried the fix above but hyperlinks still do not work?
Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks, Rivman |
