Default Archiving recurring meetings

I have heard that if you have a recurring meeting set up with no end date, it will cause issues with archiving. I'm assuming this is because it can't be removed from the calendar while it's still "active". Any truth behind that? We tend to run out of space real quick, so archiving our calendars is a must!

Thanks!
