Default Outlook Conversation History SLOW Delay

Hi, I have outlook 2007 on XP. I use exchange server too. I use offline .ost as well. The conversation history is 'saved'.

If I click the folder in outlook "conversation history" in the left panel while connected to exchange, it takes for maybe 3 minutes before outlook responds again.

If I click "conversation history" while not connected to exchange there's no delay/lock up.

I'm thinking it's going to exchange to get some info. Is this the case? How can I fix the delay while connected to exchange.
Thanks,
RN
