Recover lost e-mails
Hi,
I am in deep trouble to say the least. Today when I did a backup on my computer I made at the same time a backup of my Outlook mail (that is what I thought anyway). Therefore afterwards I did the most stupid thing by deleting from the hard drive the 1.6 GB archive-file (.pst) that consisted of my Outlook personal folder including archived e-mails. But my archive file hadn’t been saved as I had thought and I had also removed it from the trash bin (which I emptied). I then directly downloaded a freeware in hope to recover my deleted .pst-file. After a little while I had succeeded to recover the file. But when I was to import it into Outlook the program told me it was broken why I ran the SCANPST.EXE program that comes with Outlook. It “repaired” the file and I could now import it into Outlook. But now I can only see the map structure in where all the many e-mails should be stored in but they aren’t. I believe (or am convinced) that the e-mails must be in the 1.6 GB .pst-file somewhere. There is nothing else that can take that much space. Probably the file has been damaged so the e-mails “can’t be found”. My question to you is, how do I get my e-mails back from that file or rather what can I do to open the file letting Outlook find the e-mails? As I wrote, they must be in there somewhere. If somebody has come across this problem before or could help me in any way I will be most grateful! Thanks, Carl |
