Default OL2007 Breaking up a .pst file into smaller chunks.

Without going into detail about my daughter's complete lack of discipline with organizing her email, let me just say that her one .pst file is so large that Carbonite doesn't like uploading it, and of course it's one file that changes daily. Carbonite is two months behind with this file. Totally unacceptable.

For the record, I'm not doing this exercise with her machine with live data, but on a different machine with a copy of her files. I'm working on distributing the email part of Outlook into separate folders that correspond to the various smaller .pst files. Everything seemed to be going smoothly and it looked as though I knew what I was doing. Then I tried to change the destination folder for the redirection of input from a test account, and it refused to let go of the path that it was using before, which led to a .pst file in a Downloads folder of all places, instead of Apps>Local>Microsoft>Outlook.

Before I start over with more care, I thought it would be wise to ask for any suggestions & warnings that you all may have to offer.
