I am using Outlook 2010 and have a personal calendar (I believe in the .pst file with my email). Once I got my Windows Phone 7 I started using the Outlook Connector with my Hotmail account. I cannot figure out how to get the Hotmail appointments to display in the To Do bar. It displays them from my personal folders but my phone displays the appointments from my Hotmail account. Therefore I have to keep both calendars in Outlook in sync. Not a difficult task but a PITA. What do I need to do to get Outlook to display appointments from the Hotmail account? The actual email that I use is not the Hotmail account. The Connector syncs all my personal and Hotmail mail accounts but the Contacts and Appointments from my Live account only. So alternately, can I just have the Connector use my personal folders (non-Hotmail) calendar?

I stumbled upon the answer to my problem and it was quite simple. In Outlook 10, under File, Account Settings, the Email tab shows the primary email account which is by default the primary data file. Under the Data Files tab you can click on any of your other data files for which file you want Outlook to start in. I simply changed it to my Hotmail account and voila, the Hotmail calendar and appointments appear in the right-hand panel. No longer any need to move/duplicate appointments. The only downside is that when Outlook starts, my Hotmail email inbox is what loads in the main window. A simple click on my Personal Folders inbox puts that email account in focus. Much, much simpler to do that rather than keeping calendars in sync.
