Default can a macro do this?

Hi,
I want to add a date based workflow to my calendar in outlook, ie; I would enter an appointment on a particuler date then automatically add a number of tasks on various dates around the original entry. The new tasks and the date difference would always be the same based on the original date (ie 2 weeks before and 4 days after).
I've never written a macro and don't know how, but can a macro do this and if so what must I do to learn how to write it?
If a macro can't do this do you have any suggestions for an alternative method?
Many thanks for any help.
Peter
