Default Compressed Ruler Bar when Composing

Somehow the untitled message ruler in Outlook 2007 has changed. It is now only 2" long and any typing only appears as dots. I have tried everything I can think of with no luck. If I click "reply" to an existing message, that message has shrunk to the faulty ruler size. If I start a new message, same thing happens.

When I try to expand the ruler bar (by dragging sideways), it does nothing.

Help please!!

I found the solution!

Open a msg to be composed, go to the tabs and select Format Text, go to Zoom and select 100%.

Seems that this box somehow got unchecked.

Problem solved!!!
