Default How to delete certain mail from Deleted Items

I'm in the Deleted folder - I want to group certain mail and get rid of them. I can go to Find (messages from sender) but even though there are many from a certain sender(s) - the Find (messages from sender) still does not group them together so I can get rid of that particular lot.

Is there a way to do that? In Eudora, I could click on one and it the Alt button and it would automatically highlight every email in that particular folder.

Why am I thinking an E-mailer here in 2010 will do the same thing, at least in some other way?

Outlook 2010 does have this feature but it appears not for sent items. A work around is to sort the items by either subject or whom they are from..this will then place them in order so you can select multiple emails.

Best Regards

Does what you are suggesting work also for the Deleted Folder - this is where & what I'm trying to work from, not the Sent Folder.

Also, you mention to sort them by subject or who they are from - my question again is - how does one do that?

It appears grouping is not available in the deleted Items folder. You can however, create sub-folders to group specific email, but you will get an increase in performance issues.

To sort email by subject or from fields..

- Select the folder you wish to add this sorting view to. (deleted items / sent items)
- Within your ribbon, select the view tab then View settings.
- (option 1) Select "Sort" .. you can then choose how you wish to view your emails either by Subject, From, to, etc.
- (option 2) If you do not have the columns visible on the view bar within view Settings, Select Columns.
- In the drop down, select all mail fields. once selected choose the column you wish to add..

Hope this helps.

Thank you for this Spidertech - I've yet to give this a whirl. What do you mean when you say "but you will get an increase in performance issues"? The "but" seems to be a negative but the rest of your statement puts a positive note to it. Anyway, I'll let you know how it works out. Give me just a bit.

The reason i stated that is because the increase amount of folders you have..say 1000 contacts and you wish each contact to have its own folder, this may cause performance issues. Most specifically, the amount of data that is synchronizing and the amount stored in your mailbox.

Best Regards

Your last posting is making more sense now. A particular folder for "each" contact - - - nay, I think Eudora had something (others too) that makes me wonder why a Outlook 2010 does not carry those features. Thanks for your help. Much appreciated!

You know, I just found this - I'm sure no one else out there has noticed this!!!?! In the Deleted folder, there is a "Search Deleted Items" --- one only has to type in a name such as CNN and everything will come up from the first one in this folder to the last. I nearly did a body slam right into this Laptop when I noticed this. This is coming close to Eudora's way of finding certain names etc in the Deleted Folder.
