Default Past Calendar Items Messed Up

Problem = All of my calendar items from 2001-mid-Sept. '08 have disappeared (except the reoccurring ones) from Outlook 2003. Any ideas you have to remedy this issue are much appreciated, as I need to recover these items for business purposes.

Software Running: Windows XP Professional, Blackberry Desktop Manager 4.7 (just uninstalled it to ensure no Blackberry interference).

Recent Happenings/Considerations:

-I attributed the disappearance of these items to either the Blackberry syncs making anything over 60 days disappear, though this has now been ruled out (I uninstalled Blackberry Desktop Manager altogether for now).

-I then tried to import a pst file from Sept. '08 that included everything from 2001+, but only reoccurring appts. are restored.

-Back in Nov. '08, I began using Outlook's auto archive feature for items beyond 60 days old, but this has been disabled since the recent .pst file import, so it shouldn't be causing the issue of disappearing appts.
