Default My plain text post got converted to rich text in a reply, how to convert it back?

I prefer to post notes to mailing lists in plain text so replies can use the ">" convention by default. I get annoyed when people post notes or replies in rich text because it defaults to "reply at top".

A couple of days ago I posted a note in plain text and someone replied with a format change to rich text, and I couldn't figure out how to convert it back to plain text so I could reply inline, automatically using the ">" prefix.

Is there something reasonable I can do with a rich text reply to my plain text post to convert it back to plain text so replies can easily be inline?
