Saving Outlook email
This seems simple enough, but ... I am having trouble saving Outlook email to my local folders. When I go to save an email -- on the File menu -- the "Save As" option is grayed out. (Previously, when I used Entourage, it was an easy step: just select "Save As" and instantly the email was saved as a .txt file. Why can't Outlook do that?)
Thank for help or advice. |

I understand your frustration. outlook 201 for Mac is missing a ton of functionality found in Outlook 2010 and in Entourage EWS.
There is another method. You can select Move > Copy to Folder function. If you create a folder on your desktop you can simply copy the message to this folder. Hope this helps. |

Having never used Outlook on a MAC, I may be wrong, but I have always created folders under "Personal Folders" in the "All mail items" section on the left of the screen. Just right click on "Personal Folders" and choose "New". Here, create one named "Received". After doing this, right click on "Received" and create "New" folders under it with names of those who send you mail. Then, use the "move to" icon and choose the folder into which you want to place the email.

Thanks for your help with this. I learned about a few other workarounds, too, such as:
- Select Print, and then Save as PDF. - Drag email block to desktop, where it will download as .eml file. |
