Importing contacts crashes Outlook 2010 - can I reinstall, still keep settings/data?
I have a problem with Outlook 2010 that only popped up recently.
After I export my contacts from either Gmail or Yahoo to a CSV file and then try importing them to Outlook 2010 (tried both files), Outlook crashes after I select my options and click Finish. Outlook just hangs and displays the following error "outlook has stopped working" I tried disabling all of my plugins. Didn't help. I could perhaps reinstall Microsoft Office on my machine, however I'd like to know how to reinstall Outlook 2010 without erasing my PST files, and without the reinstallation modifying my Outlook settings, rules etc. I would appreciate some advice |

You will need to export all of your information to a pst file. In Outlook, click on File, Open, Import, Export to a .pst file. Once that is completed, remove the application and re-download it. Then import the pst file back into Outlook.
