Default Auto-forwarding without using Rules

Hello,

Is it possible to configure an email address (eg 1email1@abc.com) so that emails sent to it are automatically forwarded on to another email address (eg 2email2@abc.com), but without using rules?

We recently deleted the 2email2@abc.com email address and while emails sent to 1email1@abc.com are being received, the original sender is receiving a bounceback from 2email2@abc.com. We have logged in to the 1email1 mailbox and have confirmed there are no rules set up to forward the emails, so we're at a loss to explain how this forwarding is happening, and we need to stop it.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!

Regards,

Dan

Check the exchange properties for that mailbox. THere will be a setting that allows any mail coming in to be forwarded while also retaining a copy (if selected). Under newer version of Exchange, its under the mail flow tab.
