Can't OPEN EXCEL Spreadsheet in Visual Basic

Program in VB6.0 SP6. Windows 10. Upgraded from Office 2007 to 2016. I can SET OBJECT for Workbook, but not the Spreadsheet - old code fails with message about Range error. Anybody doing this?
