Other than this group/ forum, where can I get insights from veteran users on Evolution / Improvements in OneNote through 2010, 2013, 2016/19?

I've been one of the earlier users of Groove (way back in 2005) and OneNote (since Office 2007).
I am currently still using OneNote 2010 and did a Side by Side install of 2010, 2013, 2016 / 2019 to compare them;
- with some hope of major improvement in features or
- richness of its structures & metadata/ capture of text & media over versions
- 2010 did not pull Rich Text/ Tables etc into OneNote as well as Word or Evernote did.
- Is the file format still the same or is there metadata that is not backward compatible

At first glance
- I actually find the UI of OneNote 2010, take less space for more tabs (I prefer that) and
- the rest of the app literally is 90% same in every MENU section & its buttons
- So for most of Copy Pasting from a Browser, I see no benefit

--------------------------------------

SO I am wondering - What actual change/ improvement has happened?
- In terms of different strengths & weaknesses (just brainstorming some below - open to all)
e.g. I read somewhere that PALM rejection was improved
- In terms of some specific scenarios, actions, features etc.
- Is there better ability to SEPARATE & MANAGE - Offline ONLY OneNote Files / Notebooks versus those that can / are on Local Drive as well as Sync to Cloud (Live/ OneDrive, maybe Dropbox (LAN Sync)?)
- I did read that "co editing" has/ had evolved in general Office e.g. Word, PPT, Excel, - Specifics relating to Onenote?

- .. Open to all insights..

These are the improvements I found on the official page of Microsoft:
Turn the Math Assistant on or off

Teachers can now choose to temporarily turn off Math features in OneNote Class Notebooks (for example, during practice tests or student assessments).

(To use Math features in OneNote, you’ll need to be signed in with a Microsoft 365 subscription.)

Go easy on your eyes with Dark Mode

This new optional mode switches OneNote’s interface elements from light to dark — either as a color preference or as a functional benefit.

Dark Mode can improve readability of your notes in low light environments, increase the legibility of the user interface, provide better contrast, and reduce eye strain.

Navigation interface in OneNote for Windows 10

Easily navigate and organize your notebooks

The OneNote for Windows 10 app window now offers more note-taking space by providing an easier way to control the navigation interface.

Notebook location selection menu in OneNote for Windows 10

Improved Print to OneNote

In Windows 10 Settings, select ”OneNote” as your default printer and then print files from any app or browser on your PC.

Instead of printing out the information on a real printer, the printout is sent to OneNote, which lets you choose where to add the page — in any section of your open notebook, or in any other notebook that you choose.

Uploading notebooks to a cloud account

Upload your local notebooks to the cloud

Upgrading to OneNote for Windows 10 from an older version? We’ll notify you if we detect any notebooks that are still stored on your computer’s hard drive, and we’ll help you move them to the cloud, where you can access and share them from anywhere — and from any computer or device.

File insertion options in OneNote for Windows 10

Upload and insert cloud files with ease

Embedded files on a page in OneNote for Windows 10

Edit and save embedded file attachments

After inserting a file attachment into OneNote, you can double-click it to open and edit the file. Any changes you make will be saved to the original attachment without having to re-insert the file.

Start by clicking the File button on the Home tab. Next, select the file you want to embed, and then choose to insert the file as an attachment.
