Default Math Equations

Hello, Since Microsoft combined the windows 10 OneNote and the Office OneNote I have many difficulties, In OneNote 2016 I could just press "Ink To Math" and a yellow box appeared so I could write my equation with my pen, now I have to write the equation on the page, then transform it with the Math tool, but not only it creates a new text box, when I try to merge the equation with my current text box by holding the SHIFT key I cannot put the equation in the same line as the text, The only way I can put text and equations in the same line is by creating an equation using ALT+= on my keyboard, but then I have to do it manually which can take forever, and I cannot use most of the symbols I want, because in the symbol section there are only 25 symbols, my question is, is there a way to write equation as it was in the older version, or how it works right now in Word Office with the yellow box.

Thanks to anyone who can help me <3
