alt + xxxx does not work in Onenote. The leading two bytes are ignored.
I frequently need to insert special characters in Onenote, but the usual alt + xxxx (which works fine in Word and Powerpoint) does not work well in Onenote. After some poking around, I've determined that the leading two bytes of the four byte unicode address are ignored.
For example, if I want to insert a lower-case greek letter pi, in Word I would type alt + 0960 (hex: 0x03c0). However, what appears in Onenote is the capital letter A with a grave accent (À ... if that character is within the display capabilities of this forum) whose hex code is 0x00c0. (decimal 0192). Is there a setting to give Onenote the capability to use alt + xxxx for such characters? |
