OneNote input failure
For me OneNote's most annoying "feature" is, that it again and again suddenly "looses" its inputs, i.e. pen and/or touch and/or keyboard input. Sometimes just a single input medium does not work any more, sometimes suddenly none at all anymore!
E.g. while I am inking/handwriting along the pen suddenly for no apparent reason seizes to leave marks and the entire app does not react to pen input anymore (neither inking works nor do menus or toolbar-button react to any pen gestures). The same rather frequently happens to keyboard input. Suddenly OneNote does not react to any keys typed. Or it looses touch and one can suddenly not pan or zoom using the familiar finger gestures any more. The rest of the system (i.e. other windows or the desktop) still react to pen-gestures or other input events. I then always need to stop (or even kill) and restart OneNote to get things back to normal. This is extremely annoying, esp. in situations like meetings or negotations, where one should really NOT get distracted by such tool issues. When will these hiccups finally get resolved??? This is on an MS Surface 4 Pro under Windows 10 Pro, but I have seens these issues ever since I am using OneNote (>5 years now)! |
