Default Why does Onenote use so much data?

Sometimes when I'm on a slow internet connection (not home), it takes a real long time for it to sync. And I don't really do a lot of updating. Just maybe a couple of lines in 1 note sometimes and it takes forever for it to come up. When I can check the data usage, it shows like 100 MB. That doesn't sound like how much I've updated at all.

Then there's the message that it says "couldn't sync" which I presume is some sort of unrelated bug. It actually does sync but that's just what it says.
