Unhappy OneNote Undo: Insertion point/cursor "jumps" when typing Ctrl+Z

Even though it’s plagued me for several versions of OneNote, I can find very little on this issue. When I “undo”—typically by typing Ctrl+Z—the insertion point/cursor almost always jumps to another area of the page. At least some of the time, it’s to a place I’d just modified; other times it seems the new location whimsical. Navigating back where I want is often problematic & always adds friction to my experience.

Is there any way to mitigate this? Is a fix available?
