Rule to forward email using rule to me@onenote.com
Hi all, first post, don't use forums much and sure will appreciate any help
OK, I have Office 2007 installed and recently became an avid fan of OneNote 2016 (full desktop install). It's free and just awesome. I have my registered Microsoft email set up and when I log in and create an email to me@onenote.com, it appears in my preset notebook. Awesome, no problem. I'm trying to set up a rule up in my Microsoft account so when I email myself with the rule criteria, the rule automatically forwards it to OneNote. It'd be good to do this as when I'm on somebody else's computer, or in some other place, emailing myself with the rule should forward it. But it doesn't. Let's say my address is blahblah@hotmail.com I have the rule If subject contains *#* then forward to me@onenote.com So, I'm at somebody's house who uses the email address barry@worldbrain.com. I want to put in my notebook a particular file so I create an email, add the file, and address it to blahblah@hotmail.com with the subject "*#* Research paper about recycled paper". So I thought the process here is the email would hit my inbox (which it does) and the rule says "aah, it has *#* so I'll forward it to me@onenote.com", but it doesn't. Can anybody see what I've done wrong here and any suggestions how to fix it up so it works? Thank you. |

OK this is goofy. It works with a different rule. It won't accept some special characters and the rules remove them.
For example, creating the following rule removes the ! IF subject contains !onenote THEN forward TO me@onenote.com After saving the rule you can see on screen the created rule is: IF subject contains onenote THEN forward TO me@onenote.com (without !) For some reason, the combo I had being *#* didn't convert and although it looks like it should work perfectly, I suspect it has something to do with being unable to use special characters. I did numerous tests without special characters and all tests worked, eg: IF subject contains 1note OR onenote THEN forward TO me@onenote.com Hope this helps somebody out there, issue resolved. Emails appear in my OneNote now. |

I'm lost. I don't use Outlook, I use Zoho Mail. If I have an email in my Inbox and want to forward it to OneNote how would I address it to? "me@onenote.com" doesn't work. I don't understand how the email would know how is "me@oneonote.com" anyway.
What am I doing wrong? |
