Default OneNote 2013 in Windows 10 loses color tabs and ribbon.goes to purple 'basic' view?

Sometimes OneNote starts and I see the color tabs and layout the way it is supposed to look. If I stop working in the program leave it open and come back to it later the screen sometimes looks like it reverted to a power saving format. My notebooks are there and it functions but basic tools.

Help would be appreciated. I have already run a repair on Microsoft Office 2013 Professional Plus.

I see 20 plus reviews to my post but no replies. Not sure if no one has see the 'Basic' screen show up before on OneNote or it is some feature in the program to cause it to change back and forth from the 'Basic' screen (shown in my first post) to the 'Complete' screen with colored taps and ribbon and page side bar to the right as shown in the attached clip......I started working in OneNote and it was on that Basic screen. I imported contacts from Outlook and suddendly it was the complete screen as below.
I checked my friends new windows 10 and OneNote which had not been unsed showed that basic screen once we set up the OneDrive connection
Can anyone please shed some light on why this happens. I want OneNote to display the 'Complete' screen all of the time.
FYI, I just went back to OneNote and it's back to the 'Basic' screen, I'm puzzled.

I'll answer my own question here! The reason that the first basic view showed up on my computer is because that is what OneNote looks like if one opens the App version. I hid the App version on my touch Laptop, then went to All apps> Microsoft Office> OneNote 2013 and pinned it to start and task......No I am opening the correct OneNote software and it always looks like the second 'pretty' capture above.
