MS Access 2007 and workgroup
Hi,
What happend to workgroup administration from MS Access 2007 and above? I have VB 6.0 application which uses MS Access as database. The applicaiton developed with MS Access 97 and we are converting the database to new version and now it is MS Access 2007. From Access 97 to 2003 we are protecting the database using workgroup adminstration file (.mdw). So the users cannot open the database directly if they are not permitted. But in Access 2007, I am not able to find similar functions so the database become un-protected (users can directly open the database) While searching in MS Office supporting sites, it is found that the workgroup administration function removed, and we need to give database password to protect the database. But for this I need to modify the application. Do we have any other method to protect the MS access 2007 database without modifying my applicaiton. Thanks in advance, Ramesh. |
