documents lost upgrading from words2000 to words 2003
XP Professional Office 2003. After my computer crashed and on reinstalling XP, it was necessary to reinstall my previous Office 2000. But on advice I installed Office 2003. I have no complaint of this version, but the documents I saved with Words 2000 have disappeared.Do I have to remove Office and Words 2003 and replace with Words 2000 to retrieve these documents? Please help/ I have solved the problem, the documents I wanted were not in 'MyDocument' folder but in 'MyDocu-1' folder. All the documents were safe and sound Last edited by reuven1925; 08-27-2011 at 09:39 AM. Hi
It may be that the documents have been moved to a different location for some reason. Documents created using earlier versions of Word are completely compatible with later versions of Word. Go to File Explorer and search for documents with ".doc" contained in the filename. Search the whole drive and I am sure they will appear unless they have been deleted by mistake. Hope this helps.
