Default small office project

I'm not sure if this is the right section but I'm sure the mods will move appropriately.

I need to set up a document but I'm not sure of the best office prog to use. I have office 2007 enterprise.

this is what I want to achieve.
a document that does the following.
  1. I need a list page that always stays on view, to allow me to select new individuals pages
  2. in this list I will have changable names (20 individuals) that will have a link e.g. (bookmarked?) button or a word (go?), to take me to an individual page. I don't want to use the names as the link as the names will change
  3. this page will be updateable and saveable
  4. each individual name (as in 20) will have its own page
  5. above all it needs to be idiot proof as some of my colleagues are not technically minded
I may be barking up the wrong tree with office but I live in hope

Hi Steve
I am not exactly clear what you want b ut I have included a simple spreadsheet which I think will give you an idea.
Column A contains the names.
Column B contains a hyperlink to each sample page.
Try and it let me know what you think.
Hope this helps

In principal thats what I'm after. I need the link to be able to open a seperate (and printable) data sheet, a sort of running log sheet that contains a basic data set with space for a running commentary. I wonder if this is something that can link the front sheet to individual sheets.
I also wonder if this is something that might run better from access.

Hi Steve
Access may be an option if you know how to use it well enough.
However what I have done is insert page breaks which allows 3 columns per page. You can adjust the width of any of the columns as long as the total width of the 3 columns does not exceed the current page width in your printer setup.
To print an individual page simply click on the link for the page you want to print. Your cursor will be placed in the top left hand corner of that page.
Then click on File followedby Print (do not just click on print or the whole workbook will be printed). Then enter the page number you want to print.
Hope this helps.
