Default Copying multiple files as text without extensions

This is not strictly about word but it is a tool for making documents easier.

Basically, I want to do this but with an extra option of final .txt file not showing file extensions, just file names.

Can this be done the same way or is a special software needed?

Hi metamag,

For the example in the link, it's a simple matter of omitting the final '.txt', ie:
DIR /B /O:N > filenames

I meant the filenames within the filenames.txt file not showing extensions..

Hi Metamag,

That's not possible with the Dir command. You would have to parse the data afterwards, which would be possible with vba, for example. Alternatively, it should be possible to create such a list using the windows vb scripting lanuage - outside my area of expertise, though.
