Default Outlook 2003 - Reminders

I migrated the exchange database, and everything went well. The only problem I have is now 1 user, cannot access her reminders from her PC. If she logs onto another PC, she can do it without any issue, but not on her PC. I uninstalled office 2003, wiped the registry clean, and then re-installed office and the problem still occurs. Any help would be appreicated.

Thanks

Porter

You said the user logged on to another machine and it worked well? Did the other PC have the same software versions? What OS are the machines running on?

The machine the user logged onto had the same version of offce(office 2003) with the same office updates applied to it, virutally identical machine, the user had even logged onto that machine previously. Both PCs running XP Pro.

It seems to be a problem on the client side. Is it possible that the reminders are turned off? Little chance.

1. Check if all reminders flags are 'Turn on'.
On the Tools menu, click Options.
Click the Other tab, and then click Advanced Options.
Click Reminder Options.
Select the Display the reminder check box.

2. Reminders are Turn On but reminders are not displayed when the event
comes due.
On the Tools menu, click Options.
Click the Preferences tab, deselect (uncheck) the Default Reminder check box
and then click Apply.
Redo the operation by selecting (checking) the same Default Reminder box
and click Apply.

Their reminders are coming up, the problem arises when you try to double click on the reminder, you get the following error message:

You may want to try this:

Symptom:
One or more old reminders are generated each time Outlook is started.
If you try to "Dismiss" the reminder then error message appears saying:
Cannot turn off the reminder. You may be reminded again.
If you try to "Open" the reminder then you get the error:
Cannot open the item for this reminder.

Possible Cause:
This error is probably indicative of some corruption within Outlook. It has been observed after an Exchange server has crashed and needed to be rebuilt.

Remedy:
Shutdown Outlook. Restart Outlook with the '/cleanreminders' switch, the easiest way to do this is Start > Run and in the Run box enter:
outlook /cleanreminders

If any reminders still occur then try dismissing or opening them in the conventional way.
